Terms of use
Shiftpint is a noticeboard, not an employer. These terms set out who is responsible for what — which matters most on the day something goes wrong.
Who we are, and what this is
Shiftpint is operated by Rivet SAAS Limited (CRO 819875), 13 Castle Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland. Using the site means accepting these terms.
We connect venues that need a shift covered with people who can work it. We are not an employment agency and not an employer. We do not select workers, we do not supervise work, and we do not set rates.
The venue is the employer
When a venue confirms you for a shift, the working relationship is between you and that venue. The venue is responsible for:
- Paying you the advertised rate, and paying it on time
- PAYE, PRSI and USC in Ireland, or PAYE and National Insurance in the UK
- Your safety at work, and insuring the premises
- Breaks, rest periods and everything else in working time law
- Checking you are entitled to work before you start
Rates shown are gross. What arrives in your hand is after deductions the venue is legally required to make. If a rate is below the National Minimum Wage in Ireland or the National Living Wage in the UK, the legal minimum applies regardless of what the listing said.
We never take a cut of your wages. Whatever we may charge a venue is between us and the venue, and comes out of their money, not yours.
Door and security work is not here
Door supervision and security work is licensed: by the Private Security Authority in Ireland, and the Security Industry Authority in the UK. Filling those roles at short notice through a noticeboard is not something we are willing to enable, so the roles simply do not exist on Shiftpint and listings cannot be posted for them.
If you claim a shift
By claiming, you are telling the venue all of the following:
- You are at least 18
- You are entitled to work in Ireland or the UK, as the shift requires
- Your experience, as stated, is true
- You hold any certification the listing requires, and can produce it
- You intend to turn up
A confirmed shift is a commitment somebody has stopped looking for other cover because of. If you cannot make it, tell the venue as early as you can. Repeatedly failing to turn up will get your account removed.
If you post a shift
By posting, you agree that:
- You are authorised to hire for that venue
- The role, hours and rate are accurate, and the rate is at or above the legal minimum
- You will pay anyone who works the shift, whether or not it went well
- You will check right-to-work documents before the shift starts
- You will use applicants’ details only to fill that shift, and delete them afterwards
You may edit a listing before it starts. If you change the date, hours or rate after confirming somebody, we email them what changed — but the agreement you made is with them, and a rate you already agreed is not yours to lower unilaterally.
Listings must be real vacancies. No advertising, no recruitment for other businesses, and no discrimination on any ground protected by the Employment Equality Acts in Ireland or the Equality Act 2010 in the UK.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for running the site with reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for:
- Whether a venue pays you, or pays you correctly
- Whether anyone turns up
- Whether a listing is accurate, or the work is as described
- Anything that happens at the venue
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or €100.
If you are a consumer, none of this affects your statutory rights.
Your account
One account, one person. Do not share a login: a venue account can add colleagues properly from the team page, which keeps it clear who confirmed whom.
We may suspend an account that is abusing the service, posting fake listings, or putting people at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You can close your account whenever you like.
Availability
We do not promise the site is always up. We will avoid planned downtime at the times this service matters most — evenings, weekends, and bank holidays — for the obvious reason.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live.
